Plate 21 is not just a coffee shop, it is a place for community. As a South Toledo staple, they have great coffee, food and welcoming staff that greet you as soon as you walk in the door. I love attending their various community events including book club, run club and weekly yoga. Highly recommend for a breakfast to catch up with a friend (I recommend a breakfast burrito & a brown sugar latte), lunch with a co-worker (I recommend a turkey wrap and peach-pear smoothie) or a glass of wine with your partner on the patio. This is a cool place to have coffee, have a quick bite to eat. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free friendly. The staff was amazing when I ordered and made a suggestion based on other coffee house experiences. Very knowledgable and kind. Would definitely go back.

On a recent visit to Toledo I had the opportunity to try Plate 21’s new breakfast menu. I have to say during my three day visit to Toledo, I visited very morning. This coffee shop was very impressive. I say coffee shop but it’s really more than a coffee shop it’s a place that they’ve created community for the neighborhood and beyond. Yes I witnessed many people coming to plug in their laptops and have a coffee but also groups of friends coming together in a social place and actually having conversations it was so nice to actually see people talking to one another and not just staring at their phones or a computer. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito and the as well as lattes and wonderful coffee. The plate 21 staff was not only courteous and friendly, but proving a space for a community of people to have a friendly meeting place. I enjoyed the Friday morning run/walk on the trail to the river and back to the shop which was attended by many regular play 21 customers. If you have the opportunity while in Toledo, I highly recommend stopping in at Plate 21. They’re doing it right.

Stopped by for a coffee to go and immediately returned the next day for another. I had great conversations with staff both days, different people were working. We talked to the owner and learned about the community. It was a good atmosphere for meeting someone for a coffee date or sitting and working on the computer. Seems like such a gem in the cutest neighborhood! Can’t wait to go back. Super easy parking out front and everything was clean. 5/5

A must try cafe! Tons of amazing vegan brunch options- I got the vegan breakfast wrap. The wrap it is in had the perfect crisp. I got one of their specialty spring lattes, the lavender lemongrass Jasmine latte, I believe. One of the best coffee beverages I’ve had in a long time. In a quaint, quiet neighborhood, so it is great to eat outdoors on a sunny day. Highly recommend!!

This is hands down the best cup of coffee in the Toledo area. Their baristas are so thoroughly trained on crafting proper espresso drinks and as an added bonus they are always so welcoming. They also have my absolute favorite decaf anywhere, which means a lot, as good decaf is hard to come by. Their lunch menu and their morning pastries are a default choice of mine. The atmosphere is so cozy, and the neighborhood vibe is so easy to love. Their efforts at cultivating community don't go unnoticed either. Truly such a gem in South Toledo!

Nice vibes with outdoor seating on a quiet street. Lots of parking right out front. Many vegan options, excellent coffee.
